As part of Kamigatamai dance classes, I have held kitsuke (着付け) kimono-dressing classes and kimono lessons for my students. Now I am pleased to share the opening of a new class specially focused on kitsuke and kimono for beginners!
I will share how to wear a kimono and some of the wisdom surrounding the world of kimono that I am honoured to have acquired, under the guidance of experts in traditional performing arts, including senior figures, stylists of entertainers and theatre stages, and people of flower districts.
Through kimono dressing lessons, I’d be happy if I could be your help to cultivate and deepen your understanding and feelings of “Japan”.
Currently, kimono dressing classes are only available in person.
We can plan together according to your preferences for dates & times, the number of sessions, and what you’d specifically like to learn.

Class Information
Kitsuke lessons for beginners:
・Time: 1 hour × 2 times
・Fee: 1 hour for 200 kr.
Under 30 years old: 200 kr×2 =400 kr.
Over 30 years old: 200 dkk × 2 + 25% moms =500 kr.
(The price discrepancy is due to new Danish moms (VAT) rules that only apply to people over the age of 30)
・We will learn the basics of kitsuke. There are two options you can choose between:
A. Tehodoki: For people who have never tried to wear kimonos or yukatas.
We’ll learn the very basics of kitsuke by wearing a yukata.
B. Okonomi: For people who have their own kimono and would like to know more about kitsuke.
・Preparation:
A. Tehodoki: A yukata, an obi-belt, 2 koshihimo-strings.
(A pair of tabi-socks, datejime, hada-jyuban and susoyoke are optional to bring)
I will lend you a yukata if you don’t have any.
B. Okonomi: a nagajyuban, a kimono, an obi-belt, an obijime, an obiage, an obimakura, an erishin, 3~4 koshihimo-strings, a pair of tabi-socks, datejime, hada-jyuban and susoyoke.
